The Great American Pop Art Store: Multiples of the sixties
September 14, 2012
I choose this book because there were a lot of works and the cover of the book caught my eyes. ‘The Great American Pop Art Store: Multiples of the Sixties’is a traveling exhibition organized and curated by Constance W.Glenn with Linda Albright-tomb and organized by the University Art Museum, California State University, Long Beach. They divided period to three parts, 1960~1963 the beginning of Pop art, 1964~1967: bound, bagged, and boxed and good bye innocence for 1968~1970. In the book there were ‘The Sixties: A timeline’ with silver color of the paper. That was also impressive that I can easily find out the pop art work features or the famous works and authors each year. When I look at the word POP ART, I can just imagine Andy Warhol. Because that was the only author that I know who related to the pop art. But through this book, I have a lot of interests about Roy Lichtenstein who is and was known for the work named
Happy Tears . His works in the book which are patterned with dot like pictures under impressed me. And last interesting part was the font they use for the book FUTURA.
