Charting The Beatles

November 5, 2012

An example of information design that I believe is extremely successful and visually interesting are the pieces included in graphic designer Michael Deal’s study of the Beatles. He features pieces that display authorship and collaboration of Beatles songs, connections of Beatles lyrics and references to previous songs, the song keys used in their music, and their working schedule from 1963-1966. Deal uses black backgrounds and bright colors to draw the viewers attention and his subject matter is one that can be enjoyed by many.
